· MEDIA ROLE - it is the media suppor that brings the cure near the victims of this disease. Unfortunately the medical class itself are not aware of advancement made in Medicine, like this present case. Most of the time this fact frustrates people who leave the clinic without knowing how to have their problem solved. As a consequence, the ignorance leads the victim's family to attribute the cause for excessive sweating to psychological disturbances and to anxiety, which is a repetition of some doctor's rigmarole.

· THE IDEA OF WRITING THE BOOK - it arose after the physicians participating together with their patient Regina, of the Jô TV program in June 2001. Being partners for 8 years, and operating at the most renowned hospitals in São Paulo - Einstein, Sírio-Libanês e São Luis besides Hospital das Clínicas, those surgeons have been permanent source of information to the media. Another programs we were on TV : Mais Você (Ana Maria Braga), Telejornal Hoje (Globo), Leda Nagle (Globo News), Dr. Drausio Varela (Canal Universitário) besides interviews for the Magazine Isto é and newspapers Agora and Folha de São Paulo.

· THE GOOD NEWS - after the launching of the book published by Editora Nobel, which is already available at the main bookstores in Brazil, the authoress and the doctors want to spread the good news (sweating copiously is an illness and is curable) to everybody through the book itself and the site : They also intend to touch and encourage the Public Health Dept to invest in hospital equipment for this surgery . At the Hospital das Clínicas in São Paulo only, the patients on the queue have to wait for more than three years.

· SURGERY COSTS - thanks to an enormous battle by the experts above together with Thorax and Vascular Surgeons Associations, health plans were persuaded of the need to have the costs of this disease covered by them. At first the procedure was considered of aesthetic purpose and the first patients had to fully pay for the expenses.

· THE SURGERY TO CORRECT HYPERHYDROSIS through the videoendoscopy thoracic sympathectomy started to be done in Brazil from 1995 on. The evolution of surgical equipment permitted that the procedure became less aggressive, demanding only three small pencil-sized perforations on both sides of patients. It takes less than 40 minutes. The main medical services - at University hospitals - have been already performing this surgery; what we need is to make it public.
